Ok.. so maybe this is bad for the car.. idk i just did it yesterday while moving...and im not sure WHAT is going on..

Driving on the road i leaned over the cupholder while doing like 60... i had accidentially bumped the shifter from D to N

I didnt realize it until i looked at the cluster... the "key fob missing" light was blinking, and when i pressed the gas, it didnt give full throttle (even though it was in neutral) it felt like it was almost being disabled like thru a kill switch or something....

Give it a try and get back to<-------------This guy

Having the car in neutral on an automatic is just the same as me putting my car out of gear and revving it up a bit.

I've done the same on other cars by accident, when I realized the car wasn't moving when I pressed the gas I popped it back in Drive. No biggie.

The key fob missing part is odd though. Fluke coincidence?

its not only the key fob signal blinking.. but its also choking the gas to the engine...

However if im at a stop... i can rev in neutral with no issues whatsoever at full throttle...

No coincidence here.. i need other CVT's to give it a shot whilst moving...

also the key fob thing was blinking although i had my fob in the holder..

i dont see the logic in that... maybe from going into R (but it wont let you)... neutral shouldnt be an issue... Tyler if you want to be #2 you should call or email me today..

Sounds like a safety feature to me. What would happen to the CVT if you're cruising at 60 mph at 2k engine rpms, shift to neutral, then all of a sudden drop into drive at 6k engine rpms?

i don't think that could be good for the belts....it might even stretch or snap one.

You ever try to do a burnout? As in reving high in N then throwing into D?Kills the gas so you don't get to peel out..

You can feel the same thing when you brake really hard and stop all of a sudden and when you try to move again if feels like the car doesn't want to move. I've had a different thing happen, I was trying to make a left so I gunned it and peeled out and I got the emergency brake light on the dash.

Wait a minute... im confused... Unless i just take the car out of park... it wont rev past 2000rpm...

When im at a light, if i put it in neutral, it still happens... wont rev... and key signal blinks...

I know exactly what your talking about man i do it all the time because sometimes when im driving in manual mode I get carried away and in someway wound uprowing the car into neutral when I was just trying to switch up a gear. But im positive that it is a safety feature because the car doesnt let you stress the engine by moving at those speeds in neutral and then throwing the car back in drive at those speeds. The same reason our cars in CVT dont let you rev high in neutral and then throw it into drive and burnout. Although I dont get any lights when this happens so you might want to check that. Hope that maybe helped a little.

actually free reving up high in the rpms isnt to great for a motor. its like putting alot of miles on your car without going anywhere. the load of the car is what engines are made to work against.

not even high rpm revving man... just 3000k wont fly... it cuts off at 2k like its a fuel cutoff...

Yea I do hear it cut off the fuel, and it wont rev above 2000 rpms, but only for a second and then everything is back to normal. This leads me to believe that it is just a safety measure. Well atleast I hope it is

FGF... but the gas turns back on? interesting...

were you stopped at a light?

Also, did the key blinker go on?

With gas these prices i guess i should be happy.. but its a little dissapointing that when someone rolls up... i cant rev my engine...
