revs freely in neutral, not in gear?

I have a s13 with a redtop in it. My current problem is that the car will idle rough, revs fine in neutral and smells like it is running very rich. But if I put the car into gear it wont let me rev past around 3000 rpms. I unplugged the MAF and it seems to idle a bit better.The car was running fine before and this happened recently(last week saturday).Yes I did search and have come to believe my MAF is bad. I would like others input about this though. Thanks!

anyone got any ideas? Cleaning it out with some MAF cleaner. Ill post back with an update.

I would say it's the maf as well
