Help. Anyone know if this is what controls gear change on automatic on 1990 zx. Car won't shift to 4th. Forgot to addddd. Where is this located. Can someone post a picture and where to look. I'll buy you lunch if you help me out. Lol.

The gear changes are mostly controlled by the TPS and the shift solenoids. My guess is that since the trans won't shift into 4th, it probably just needs redone. Normally the solenoids and whatnot are pretty solid in these transmissions, so my guess is a clutch or whatever is finally just no longer working.

Hmmm. Let me explain what happen. Maybe this clears it up.


Pure and simple.
I ran over a deer. No damage to nothing in car. Not even number. But when he hit the transmission. Popped it out of gear. Then it won't shift to 4th. It's an automatic mind you.
Car and everything else runs good.
I kinda had a previous post but it's old and I've had car stored in garage till warmer weather. I did start it and run it though. Does drive fine but won't take 4th gear. Help.

Start on page 44, do the self diagnosis. That will tell you if there's anything wrong with the trans electrically. If there's nothing wrong electrically, then it's really hard to say. If the self diagnosis doesn't work, check out page 75.

What's judgement flicker???

When you do the AT-check thing, the light will blink fast, and then one of the blinks will be longer than the rest, and that's the "judgement flicker".
