I saw a few posts here and there with people that have dropped on the cash and bought a new Q. As an owner of a 1997 Q45 that I have owned since 2000 and frankly put very little money into (I only have 102k on it and bought it at 45k) I was nearly almost immediately ready to run out to the dealership and get the Hybrid as I really want a fast car (not hard for it to be faster than my 97' or any 97' for that matter) with 32 MPG.

Then the reviews started to come in, bad ones! I subscribe to Car & Driver, Road & Track, Automobile, and Motor Trend....all the reviews were pretty bad. I was hoping that only the steering would be the thing slammed but they seem to slam everything. So my 97' got negative reviews too and when I drove it in 1997 against a 1996 Q45 I much more liked my 97' and I bought it against the pundits.

So how are you guys feeling, loving it...reviewers are idiots???? Did you lease just to see what it is like. I don't ever lease cars, I buy them and keep them forever (84' 300ZX turns 30 next month, Q45 is 12 years in garage, X-Terra last 8). I haven't gone and drove one yet (just time and had surgery)...

Reviews from real owners!

I've had my Q50 Premium AWD for about a week now and I love it. I don't have the DAS so can't complain about that but so far no issues and I really enjoy driving it.

I think it feels pretty sporty and I don't even have the sport model. You can get the sport model without DAS as well but you get the better suspension and brakes.

Okay, so the reviews in the car mags are pretty mixed, but you know, I think they were very mixed when I bought my Q45 and I have loved that car and it has lasted so long and been totally reliable.

I think it will soon be time for me to drive one.

I've put over 8000 miles on my Q50 AWD. It is the 6th Infiniti I've owned and probably my favorite. These guys in the car rags are nothing more than nerds that are wanna be race car drivers. They are so wrong about this car! I absolutely love the new steer by wire. In fact, I just plain love driving the car anywhere, any weather, any time. I do not think it handles as well as my 2010 G37, but I'm convinced 75% of this factor is the freakin run-flat tires. I can't wait to burn them off and put a real set of performance all weather tires on it. Be sure to order the spare tire option if you buy one. I love the looks and am once again amazed how Infiniti can release a totally new model and maintain such great fit and finish. The recent 5 Star crash results are a plus and I've averaged 21.8 MPG with a very heavy foot and considerable time in Sport mode. Go drive one and trust your instincts not some pocket protector wielding yahoo who spent 30 minutes driving the car on a race track. :dblthumb:

Thanks for chiming in here!!! That was the type of review I wanted to hear. Seems like nobody likes the run flats, my brother's BMW came with it and he never liked them from day one but was assured he get used to them.

that type of gas mileage is pretty reasonable, I still have interest in the hybrid to get even more, this is on the list of replacement cars for my Q45 for sure. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I just bought a manufacturer demo '14 Q50 AWD I haven't had too much time behind the wheel, but so far love it. I'm like the rest; not too sure about the run flats...I agree that if you buy new all seasons, don't forget you have no spare tire! The option is $200, retail. It includes the jack. Just be advised that putting the spare tire in raises the trunk floor about 5 inches (according to the dealer)! I don't know if you get the new foam floor board for the trunk when you get the tire package or not. They are different.
I plan on getting rid of the tires, but losing the 5 inches is not good!

The world is going run-flats for sure. They are uber expensive to replace too. if yours are still pretty new you might find someone to buy them off you for the same price as regular tires, but if I were you I would try to get used to them. My brother eventually did (although he had to lemon-law his BMW)
