when hooking this up to the SR. you will need to re-wire the ECU plug for the consult port wires? or is there a way to make up a seperate plug?

you cant do "tuning", you can only run active tests which wont be retained once test is stopped or car is stopped.

you're getting the consult interface cheap because:1) he ripped off calum's DIY interface for a couple of dollars. the design was supposed to be for people making it themselves, as if something goes wrong you need to know how to fix it etc.2) it doesnt use the proper consult connector (costs ~15USD)3) no proper enclosure etc...exposed electronics4) is including software you can get for free anyway. calumsult, ecutalk, tecu, and older scantech versions (if that was supplied) are all free.

but for people who are cheap, it works so if you dont need it permanently mounted or anything and just need quick diagnosis its pretty cheap, if you dont care about the ethics of it all. find it funny that he says you're saving $500, but thats ebay marketing for you

s13xCrazy, I just purchased one of these and I am curious how it is working for you and if you have found out anything new on it. I'm getting it for the sole purpose of checking a code I just started getting but am eager to learn as much as possible and use it to it's full extent. Thanks

Ditto... I have a S13 SR in my S14 so none of my OBD crap is hooked up. How would that work?

I'd like to see some screenshots of the parameters you can monitor, if you get a chance to do that.

If you give me lets say...idk a few days (5 at most), ill make a section on the website for it (i do web stuff for Jason, the owner. but i get NO chunk of the change, so this benefits me NONE. I'm doing it so i have more portfolio work.)

It did take a few minutes for me to get it working, i had a problem with my COM port on my computer. So i am going to make a write up on how i installed it in my car and on my computer just to clear everything up.
Have you done that write-up yet? I was curious how you got the com port to work? Also, there are two ways you can hook it up to the OBD port, which way works?

OBD scan tech is free now. the cables have come down in price. around $40 at ecutalk.com. blazt has come down too. definitely worth the investment. E-mance is to be avoided.

Seems like the prices have gone back up if this http://www.ecutalk.com/interface.aspx is the one your talking about

awhile back this company used to rock. Once he got popular his product went to s***. I have heard from many people that E-Mance is NOT the way to go like it used to be back in the day.

Summary: Was good, now it sucks.

Are you serious. You failed twice in that post. First, I know you did not search in eBay because I typed in like 3 words and found a page full. Second, you can't "WERD" your own post.

FAIL!

uggh. can't believe I'm satisfying your laziness of not searching.

Read this review and I too decided to give Jason's product a try... Being a tech I already have a Snap-on Mt 2500 scanner but am using it on a JDM Pulsar and don't get all the datastream I am looking for. [ I have to trick it into thinking it's a n/a 2.4L(instead of the SR20DET)]. At first Jason was very informative and I felt confident it would work for me, so I ordered one right away. Upon recieving my cable, which I might add looked extremely home built... I tried almost everything to get this piece o @#$% to work. Used multiple different cables and even 2 different computers with totally diiferent operating systems. Upon contacting Jason, and doing some troubleshooting, he suggested I send it back and he would test it and get back to me as to if it were me or the consult board that was the issue, then send it back to me or replace the defective board. I returned the cable immediately... Was so anxious to get this thing working. It has been almost 2 months of sending e-mails and phoning him, and nothing... He will not reply back to me, I was very polite the whole time but still he will not reply to me anymore. Sent me a defective product, took my 60$ and is probably laughing all the way to the bank. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SELLER!! HE IS A DEADBEAT! And he wanted me to send him an ecu to tune? After my first experience... NOT A HOPE! I should have listened to all the people who rec'd NOT using E-mance.
