Looks like its my turn to comment on my experience with Durdan Perfab.

First off, because I know he'll read this, damn it Taylor I was really hoping for stickers that say "We put the laughter in slaughter."

So, background on my harness. I've had my SR swap up and running for about a year now. At the time of performing the swap, I had contemplated sending it off to Wiring Specialties. What really turned me off from Wiring Specialties was the work of theirs I've seen in person for an RB swap. The harness wasn't clean, plugs were missing, and I constantly read about bad experiences others had had with them.

Wiring from S13 KA to S13 SR is simple enough, so I got the guides from both http://www.frsport.com/SR20DET....html and http://www.heavythrottle.com/. Both of these sites provide great data, allowing the wiring process to go quite smoothly.

Although my harness was in working order, there were a few things I wanted straightened out. First, I had never wired in a/c as I thought that I wasn't going to want it. WRONG! 100+ degree days here in Oklahoma suck. Second, when I originally extended my MAF wires I never used shielding. Shielding keeps electromagnetic interferences at a minimum, and is especially important for systems that require precise voltage readings (ie. MAF). Third, I wanted my Apex'i AVCR integrated into the harness. I can be pretty picky when it comes to my own car and feel that how your work is done is a reflection of yourself. Simply put, I wanted my harness to look a tad cleaner.

After seeing Justin's harness I knew Durdan would be able to redo my harness to my expectations. Turn around time was very quick and within 2 weeks I had my harness back, I think most of the time was spent waiting for my paypal to clear.

Here are some pics of my harness before:Notice the huge wire loom in the back? The igniter chip was just kind of hanging out near my strut tower. Also note I had extended my MAF wires to run over the fan shroud.

Here's my harness after getting it back from Taylor. The work is top notch.Hey look, no more wires running over the fan shroud. I have my pressure sensor for my AVCR mounted on my passenger side strut tower. Durdan did an awesome job integrating the AVCR harness into the factory harness.

Check out how much cleaner this now looks near the firewall! The excess is rewrapped inside the cabin, allowing the igniter chip to be placed behind the ECU. As mentioned before, the ECU can be accessed very easily, allowing it to sit almost in the passenger's seat. I imagine this makes access for ePROM tuning much easier.

Like Justin said, the pictures really don't do the harness justice. I highly recommend Durdan for anyone contemplating who to ship their harness off to.

Plus, he sends out stickers

Oh yeah, easy enough for most people to screw up. Getting the engine to run is easy, pulling everything to length (note that taylor doesn't normally splice and solder, he re-routes the wires to keep from having a large bulge of soldered wires, or removes old wires and re-pins new wires in at the correct length), and removing and de-pinning the unnecessary wires is a bit more difficult. If it was so easy to make S13 harnesses look this clean, then more people would do it. Not trying to be an a$$, but I've seen the work of many "professionals" and "professional shops" with these harnesses, and few look as good. Most are slapped together with no thought/care of cleanliness. Anyway, madhatters, ever in Rome?

He is right though, S13 SR wiring is easy.

But to make it nice and clean and taking out all the unneeded bull**** wires (actually removing the wires and depinning them), thats kind of a pain.

Sure you could cut off the unneeded connectors, fold them back on themselves, and heath shrink it so its safe. Or even just leave them there. But thats not what this dude is doing (i think lol). He's actually pulling all the loom **** off, cutting the wires out and depinning them. Then putting new loom back on and making it look clean as hell. It's not hard, but it's not really too fun either.

Yes, that is how he does it, and everything is to near perfect length to reach where it goes, no excess anywhere on my harness. It fits like a glove. I know the S13 to S13 is easy, but yes, to make it clean and fit great, is a pain. I was going to do it, and decided I didn't want to hassle with it bc I knew it would be frustrating for me. I happy with the outcome. I need to post a new pic to replace that first one since I've cleaned up the extra ground wires.

well, it just so happen that the latest people to rave about my work were S13-S13 users. ive done easily over 300 harnesses in just the last 2 yrs alone and have been building harnesses since 2000. im working on an S14 into an S13, a standalone S13 for a 510 and an S14-S14 with ABS right now.

i have made harnesses for SR's to go into Miatas, old MGB's and a few 510's. Ive also made harnesses for LS1's to go into 240's, and my favorite was a Haltech controlled 2JZ that we put into a 350z.

so.. this aint my first rodeo.

Did you have any luck with his other email address? I was looking to contact Taylor as well.
