Those are fantastic cars. We had a slew of local police and FHP issued Marauders in Florida in the mid 2000's. Between the Z28's and the Marauder's on the highway, the FHP officers could regularly be seen wringing the power from the engines and flying down the road.

I love Marauders--the car was on my short list when it came time to replace the Q45. But Merc should have stuck to black. Very few cars look good in blue, and very, VERY few sedans look good in red (and none of them are big).

The big, long exhaust tips (the muffler is way forward under the car, leaving plenty of space to devote to a clean, muscular stretch of tastefully chromed tailpipe) look fantastic and are a very subtle way of muscling-up the Grand Marquis' looks. I love the 5-spoke wheels that came on the Marauder, too (once again I find myself frustrated with the fact that Lincoln gave the LS the Taurus/Jag lug pattern rather than the Mustang/Crown Vic lug pattern).
And the modular V8 makes one of my favorite stock exhaust notes ever. It sounds so good. A magnificent blend of silk and burble.

I must be getting old because these big muscle sedans really appeal to me. If I was going back to the states my DD would be a retired Crown Vic police car with a five speed swap.
