VERDICT:
If you come across a clean one, buy it. Store it in your shed with the rest of your tools.
This was, to my surprise, the most mechanical enjoyment I’ve had behind the wheel in years.

It's a somewhat lengthy review so you'll have to click on the link to read the rest:

Nicely done!

Sometimes I read sections and think "Jesda was drunk when he wrote this part". Is that true?

Bravo! I also gave up a luxury vehicle in favor of the mini truck. I ditched a very unliked Mazda Millenia for a 1995 Hardbody. As of yesterday I now own 2 Hardbodies, the latest from 1991. It's a base model with no frills...I LOVE IT!!! Nothing beats the small Japanese trucks from the 70's-90's!

Ugh, that review made me miss my 87 Yota. Those old trucks can take quite a beating and never hesitate even once.

Now I miss my Ranger again. Pure mechanical everything (did have power steering). Rattly, loud, with a harsh ride. And I loved driving it.

I need to stop reading your reviews. One of these days it will end up hurting my wallet.

Just pulled an Autocheck on it. Turns out it has almost 400,000 miles. :mike

It's going to literally rot away before that 20R ever dies.

I love my 720. I hope I can keep it from rusting out, and It may run forever.

Also what's more uncomfortable and fun as sitting in the jump seats in a king cab.

When I was a kid we had a Mazda B2200 and a Nissan hardbody, both manuals with extended cabs. I remember having to sit back there with my brother on cross-country road trips and family vacations. By the early 90s we finally convinced my dad that we were too darn big.

Since it was the less safety-conscious 1980s, we were allowed to crawl back there and hang out with our sleeping bags to enjoy some extra space. :)

Ahh the good old days when we took the Buick Century to the mountains, and my dad converted the whole rear into a bed so me and my sister could sleep or just hang out looking at trees go by.

I am glad I didn't have to ride in jump seats as a kid, but I did have to ride in the rear facing seat in the back of the buick.
