honestly, the more I think about it, I don't think I'm gonna buy another modern car for quite some time.

it'll have to be something exceptional for me to do so.

When my Civic is paid off, I'm gonna look for an old air cooled Porsche.

I could spend what I'd spend on a newer car on it but walk away with something far superior. (yeah, sure, it'll give headaches, but all cars break, I might as well have a pony from Stuttgart on the hood)

Well done review. Jesda. My aunt had a nice 1964 4 door impala for many many years that she bought new. Her Impala was an automatic. Great road trip car, a good choice for drive in movie dates. I remember the car did wallow a bit in turns when pushed, and the steering was fairly numb (typical of ther era). I also remember the drum brakes were pretty good except in the rain, where you had to leave yourself a whole lot more room to stop unless they were good and hot. Great ol' cars. :dblthumb:

Great review, Jesda! I've always had a thing for 60' Impalas.

My mom bought her very first car (a 1964 Chevy Impala SS 327) from her grandmother for $1... She sold it after a few years to get a 1971 Toyota Celica.

I LOVE '64 Impalas. The only year I like better is '67. '60s GM is auto styling at its best.
