Hi,
today I was reversing up on a steep hill in my pathfinder 2000 but the wheel started spinning and the car wasn't moving actually it moved a little bit in the opposite direction, so I gave more throttle but the car still refused to move. This lasted no more than 5 seconds then I immediately pushed the break. So my question is how much damage did it cause to the wheels knowing that there were some smoke and a smell of burned rubber.
Thanks.

Welcome to Nico!

Other than shaving a bit of life off your tires, you didn't significantly hurt anything. Doing it every day will be more significant. In the future, though, avoid spinning them. As you saw, spinning tires actually have the opposite desired effect and leads to the car going the wrong way, not to mention undue strain on the powertrain and running your tires down. Put one foot on the brake and the other on the gas, and slowly ease onto the gas as you're letting off the brake. Once you find how many RPMs slowly move the car back, let off the brake completely. Too much gas and you'll spin the tires again, and too little means you'll be rolling forward again. If you're driving a stick, grow a third foot :bigthumb:
