reverse tilt mirrors

I have a 2006 Infiniti M35x and when I put my car in reverse my mirrors will turn inward instead of turning downward and they will stay in that position even when I put my car into park or drive, I have to readjust them every time. Has this happened to anyone else, and Is there a way I can reset them, or do I have to go through a dealer. Thanx!

Yes, a somewhat common problem. My 2006 M35x started to do that intermittently for about 2 years now. I believe the fix is a new mirror assembly if I recall previous postings correctly.

I ended up turning that function off.... they would tilt down but when they came back up they would not be in the same position (they would be slightly off) they were before I put it in reverse... I dont need that function... so I turned the switch for them to not do it... SOLVED (in my eyes)

I've never heard of the mirrors turning inward instead of downward, but it's also not typical for both mirrors to move. That having been said, your car may have a module to make the mirrors move, and it may be messed up. You can either just turn the feature off (what I did, don't need it either), or assuming it does not have a messed up module or modification that prevents saving properly, you can try adjusting the mirror with the car in reverse and saving your settings, then adjusting the mirror with the car out of reverse and saving your settings again. After that, if it works right, you're good to go, but otherwise, something needs replaced if you really need the function.
