reverse makes some grinding....

i have an auto (5spd parts are being shipped) 91 hatch and when i put it into reverse it makes a slight grinding noise in the diff about every wheel rotation, when im turning in reverse... is the diff necessarily bad or whats goin on?

Mine does it too but it is my brakes.

I had the same problem, except it sounded HORRID! I would try parking so I would never have to go in reverse because of it.... but anyways, I got my brakes replaced. Now there is not more grinding.

Mine does too... sounds like it's a rear brake. I figured the pads were a bit glazed, and braking backwards was kinda scuffing them or something.
