Reverse lights ? WTF

Ok so my stock reverse lights were not working so i replace them with LED bulbs and they still wont work ???? is there a short somewhere ?

Firstly, check your fuses.

Secondly, the reverse sensor on the transmission may be loose, unpluged or broken. Take a look underneath the car and see.

mine does not work eith and I had the transmission out and forgot to check them but I will test them this week.

does anyone know how to change the reverse light switch on the trany?can it be done without having to remove or lower the trany

It's just on the side of the transmission. You can get it with the car on jack stands.

does it have anything to do with the crusie control too? I took my car to a shop to get the sensor looked at because my reverse lights would flicker as i accelerate. i dont know what they did because my reverse lights dont even come on anymore, and my cruise control wont even turn on, like the light doesnt even come on when i push the on button..

Cruise Control can get disabled for other reasons too, like the ECU not getting a speed reading. Is your power steering working? Also pretty sure the cruise control also requires the neutral position sensor to be working. I'd read up the troubleshooting in the FSM.

I am currently having the same issue, I noticed that the actual reverse light switch on the right side of the manual transmission breaks off and shorts itself out. That activates the reverse lights even though you may not be in reverse. I would look at that first. I have just replaced mine and now the lights will not come on at all. I am trying to find a further cause, I'm not sure if the stop and tail light switch may be faulty considering my Z shorted the other day and I no longer have tail lights either. The reverse lights were working after the Z shorted. I will try and figure it out, if anyone else has any ideas, please fill me in as well.
