I have the same problem, check the FAQ but i think it's because of the water leak when u pop the hatch. Not sure though. DOes your rear wiper motor work?

there's a sensor on the transmission for the reverse lights, you might want to check that? as for the brake light, i dunno just check the wires as much as you can.

ya i had to replace the sensor on my transmission... actually there are three of them... neutral, reverse, and overdrive.

check for leaking under the transmission... thats how i noticed mine, the sensors leak when they're shot.

lol, I fixed my hatch light. It seems that at the joint where the hatch is bolted onto the chassis, the wires got pinched and were severed. running new lines through that little hole made the lights work again! then after a little asking around about how my reverse lights weren't working, i checked my chilton manual and it showed how the reverse light switch is mounted on the transmission. I jacked up the front of the car and checked the reverse light switch, and noticed that only one of the wires was attached while the other was just dangling. so a little electrical tape fixed that right up. oh yeah and i'm just now reading your post D1SR240 but thanx for the info anyway.
