well I decided that months after switching from automatic to manual to wire up my speedometer and reverse lights, I did the wiring according to orion's page on http://www.ka24development.com and double and triple checked my work. My problem is that my 95 240sx reverse lights are on all the time and are off in reverse. I tried reversing the wires but that yields no results. Please help point me in the right direction.

you are prob not plugged into the reverse switch. if i remember correctly the reverse switch completes the circuit when in reverse. also, iirc the 5th gear sensor breaks that circuit when in 5th. if that is the case i bet you are wired up to the 5th gear circuit. do you see another sensor back there?

no it is the right sensor even have my fsm telling me so; however, I did have the transmission rebuilt about 6mo. ago and possibly they switched the sensors around. Would that cause the reverse lights on in everything but reverse?

yeah, definitely. try to switch them. or if you have a multimeter you can just test them out with a simple continuity test.

Sorry for never updating but the sensors were switched so if anyone accidently has puts the sensors backwards the lights will be on in everything but reverse. Hope this helps future auto-manual swappers.-dave
