Reverse is weak in g50

well i just replaced my1992 q45 transmission with another 92 trans. with a 94 pump in it.... All the gears but reverse work... when put in reverse the engine doesnt even bog down like it should during a gear change.... hoping i wont have to rebuild considering the job costs $1500... any suggestions??

well its already installed and the head tech at my infiniti dealership is gona charge me an arm and leg to take the replace the transmission... is there no other way to see?

What's an arm and leg ~~ $600 for a transmission swap is normal.

Never seen a decent local rebuild [ at least in dozens of ATL shops] always some minor problem and they never function exactly as brand new.

We love it when people come in with someone elses nightmare work.

One customer paid us to swap three transmissions before he would take our advice to buy oem Nissan rebuild.

It's possible the sealing rings slid out of their grooves in the pump. Since the reverse clutch is fed through the pump this might be possible. He should pull the trans and the pump and check them. It they are ok, then? Maybe a full rebuild if you plan on keeping the car.

Arm and a leg? How much did he want and what did it include?
