Reverse gaer scares me

I posted this B4 and nobody helped me when I reverse I get a grinding sound for a fwe seconds what is it??I am mechanically inclined currently in Diesel training. I can DIY/MS

Sounds like slave cylinder.Try searching this stuff instead of trying to get your post count up.

After you put in gear? While moving. Only once? Coming from transmission? Sure it's not the rear brakes?

What kind of clutch do you have, is it an unsprung hub? Can you give a few more details?

my car does that too when I come to a stop before backing her in to a parking stall(still partially moving i guess). It did that w/ the stock clutch and the centerforce clutch I have now..but never does it when I'm stopped so i don't think it is the slave cylinder.One time it didn't even go into reverse, just grinded and grinded so maybe bad sychros? transmission was already warmed up

I never had that problem with my old 240 but with my 91 SR5. Eventually it got a new motor and a new clutch (Luke) and flywheel (fidanza) and it STILL did it. I dont have the car ne more (TOTALLED!!!! ) and I never did figure it out but I'm blaming it on the transmission!

it sounds like the the rear brake calibars slave bolt ran out of grease on it so when u revers it sounds like grinding metal

man, yesterday my car wouldn't go into reverse! I'm sitting in the middle of the street so i can back into my driveway put the gear lever in reverse pop the clutch out and the car didn't even move and all i hear is a faint grinding noise, not really loud. wtf?! i'm in the middle of the damn street and cars are comin at me at like 60mph so then i took her up the street made donut/u turn then tried again then she actually moved in reverse, it only usually happens right after i'll redline the engine, happened w/ my stock clutch and my centerforce clutch so must be the transmission..??

Here's a few reasons you're not being helped. This is the KAT forum, so you're posting a transmission problem in the wrong forum. You also didn't give us ANY info. Like suggested, what's the type of clutch, brand of clutch, is it a syncro? Is it going into gear only or are we actually moving?

Thanks For nothing d!ck! (yeah I knew that was ur name) the dude I bought it from didn't use the E-brake toomuch the thing was rusted out and the hicas res. was empty watever it was it stopped now bastard

the thing is it stopped ( for now) with the hicas top up and brake filing down however the (E) is still on so I dont think I fixed it , Should have replaced the bastards but the finances ****ed me over
