So all in all my Q is in really good shape. Just built up some normal wear and tear that i am now looking to get all fixed up.

I just got about 8 little dings popped out on my car. I am getting it fully detailed tomorrow and just recieved some "custom" mixed touch up paint from paintscratch.com to go around and fix some old crappy chip touch up jobs. All of them are on the panels on the doors..the panels that look..and have been acting as stupd peoples door stoppers...I swear people have hit mine on purpose..it sucks. Can those panels be removed?? I figure it may make the touchup job easier. I also plan on repainting the rubber trim that goes over the fenders...the sun has beat the crap out of them and they turned brown..hope it works!

Alsoanyone had any luck repainting their wiper arms? mine on the front and back are chipped up and look like crap. I cant figure out how to get them off though! Anyone tried painting them while on the car ?? Seems risky.

Try looking in the service manual: http://Nicoclub.com/FSM.

I know on the Q45 that it is removable...

I painted mine last year and they just chipped up again so this year i sanded it down to the chrome and put about 3 good coats of primer and a gunmetal grey colour thats metallic, looks awesome

i painted mine on the car, use LOTS of newspaper. the rear hatch is the hard one since the paint will run down so you really gotta make sure everything is covered up well

Did you use a spray can i assume? I am hesitant about doing that since i just got the whole car reconditioned and detailed..overspray may lead to my death.

I was thinking about getting the duplicolor spray can and spraying a large amount on like a plate or somethin....than using one of those sponge brushes you get from the art store (the ones that look like foam wedges on a stick) and doing it that way. What do you think?

And in response the the sanding it down to the bare metal..i think that could be a serious hazard if the sun hit it the wrong way..just my 2cents.

The Wiper arms are removable on my truck there's a cap covering a bolt that holds the wiper arm down right at the bottom of the arm. I need to repaint mine if I do that today ill take pictures of the wiper removal for you. I'm going to be using primer and engine enamel paint (metallic black). That color seems to match the rest of my truck well.

That would be great slick! Mine have those same caps on them. I have just heard horror stories about trying to get those things off. Let me know how it goes. I am going to look at it this weekend (as well as repaint (touchup) my fender trim!! )..so if i beat you to it i'll let you know how it goes.

One of the best ways to get the wiper arm off if it stuck is to use a battery terminal puller, works great.

So i painted the wipers today. They were not nearly as tough to get off as i thought. Just like you said you pop the cap and take of that one nut. To get the wiper off you have to bend it to th "upright" position (so that the wiper is in the "L" shape) and give it a wiggle and tug. The rear one was a bit more difficult but it came off.

I painted it a flat black thinking it would look pretty good. But after i put them back on i realized it would look alot better with a mettalic or semi gloss coat. (possibly cause my car just got detailed so all the black trim is glossy right now) So tomorrow i am going to take them off again (should be simple this time) and give it another coat of either the metallic or semi gloss black. But even as is it looks 100 times better than it did.

i also sprayed some silicone lubricant in the window tracks didnt make a huge difference but i can definitely see it helped.
