I read all the stickies and used searcher and came up with nothing. Sorry I'm a noob. I want to get an 06' 350z and put a supercharger kit on it down the road and it said I needed a high rev up engine with a manual trans. Any help?Heres the supercharger link: http://www.superchargersonline...0SQ-N

Okay, How would I know if it has the high rev up engine in it? Or should I find another supercharger for a regular 06' 350z?

The '05 track and 35th Anniversary (6 speed) models came with the Rev-Up version of the VQ. The '06 models with the 6 speed have them as well but I'm not sure of anything beyond that.

There was a member here a while ago that had an '05 or '06 that didn't have the Rev-Up when it should have due to some special order or early model number, something like that.

You can always just look at the tach, if you've got a 7000 rpm redline then you have a Rev-Up motor.

That's interesting. One of my buddies asked me if I had the Rev up engine and I was kind of lost. So basically all models have them except the automatics? I'm assuming the rev ups have more hp then also?

Yes, the Rev-Up has some extra hp at the cost of some torque - 300hp/260tq. On the upside of the torque loss the VQ35DER has a flatter and broader torque curve than the VQ35DE

I've read/heard that it also has stronger connecting rods and some other internal bits (to handle the higher rpms) but I can't confirm this.

Is that 300hp to the Rear wheels?

Um, no. That's the manufacturer's rated hp at the crank.

ALL 06s have the rev-up, only 05 manual has the rev-up the automatic has the non rev-up, 03-04 all have the non rev-up, 07-08 all have the HR. You can easily tell from the front of the engine too see the covers where the cam's go (the circle) in this pic below thats a non-rev up engine the rev up looks different it has 2 circles on the cover I couldn't find a pic of one but thats the best I could describe it lol

Unless you have a 2007+ and have a 7500rpm redline.

The site I linked has a breakdown of model to engine...
