Guys..I acquired a rev speed meter from my friend. I studied the instructions because I didnt want to mess anything up. I was a little confused on them but i tried to hook it up anyway. Now its hook up and works, but it has no speed reading showing up on the RSM. (My stock one still works).

I used this diagram.

I did not use this diagram. Do I need to have "constant power"? Because the thing that baffled me is I have to orange wire coming from the RSM.

did you cut the speed signal wire and route the signal into and out of the RSM as instructed or just tap into it?

originally, I just piggybacked it the speed. But after it wasn't working i cut it and then routed it into the RSM.

(looks to the left of post, remembers who poster is and where he is, pours more coffee) Oh yes, that's right, duh, sorry bout that. Your stock speedo works because it's cable-driven. I need to peak at me FSM and figure out where the speed signal you are tapping into is picked up from.

I JUST figured it out and fixed it...my harness is pretty hacked up now, but I was soldering everything so it should be ok. I was reading the diagram incorrectly.Instead of looking at the computer from the angle designated, I was looking at my harness from the direction I should have been looking at the computer. I was looking at it upside down keeping the 16P on the left. So the wires I was tapping into were on the "top" whereas they should have been on the "bottom", if that makes sense.

My ign source was incorrect, but apparently I got lucky and hit another ignition source. It's working fine now, and Im just glad I didnt mess anything up.

I have no idea what wire I was running through the RSM thinking it was speed.

Haha! everybody trips that up, I have done it myself. Glad it's working for you now although I know it only goes as high as 80 kph right?

Of course! Why would it need to go any higher!?

And its 50cm away from the drivers seat as well...
