maybe it's because your ecu is being thrown into saftey mode. there are multiple reasons for this happening (temp sensor, maf, o2 sensor etc.) basically it's a saftey catch so the ecu wont let you rev the engine over 2500 rpm if it's not getting all the right signals.

I think it struggles to hold voltage somewhere along the lines of your engine such as tps or maf if you try reving slow..reving fast somewhat forces it to keep going because you are quickly raising the voltage..are you getting in misfiring around the lower rpm band when reving it? i say check your tps voltage..should be .45v to .55v at idle and 4.5volts at w.o.t. also check your maf voltage...look for a 12v reading from one wire and a 5v from the other the last wire is a ground..also check your ecu to make sure its not bad by looking at the l.e.d. on the back of it while the engine is running..if the l.e.d. is on with the engine running then the ecu is bad

lol anyways bro do you have a voltmeter? if you do you can check the voltage of your tps while its idling and at w.o.t. and you will be able to tell if its bad or not before you buy a new one...the wire all the way on left should be the power i think...when your car is idling it should be .45volts or so no less..and no more than .55volts ...then the lever on the tps you push up and it opens it a.k.a. w.o.t. and it should read 4.5volts all the way open
