rev limiter

ive had my red top for over two years now and its running ok but it doesnt seem to have a rev limiter, the guy i got the swap from said the ecu might be chipped, is there any easy way to correct this?

first off how far have you revved it out to? if its in the ecu then i would take it to a performance shop that can check it for you, they may also be able to put a limiter in for you

um hard to say how far i've taken it, there has been a couple times while doing some doughnuts that its hit past 8000 without slowing down at all, there was also one time when i was racing and i over revved the engine, it made a strange sounds but didn't seem to hit a real limiter

hard to say, but you might have been floating your valve springs at the high rpms...i would say take it to a shop and see if they can check the tune on it or another option is a standalone rev limiter box. you install it and set whatever limit you want and it cuts spark at the preset rpm, that could be a cheaper route if you could find the right one online

Bee R rev limiter is a good one. It's ignition cut and you can set it to whatever you want. Look it it. Also shoots flames out exhaust when it bounces Haha.
