I had my G37 on the track at VIR last weekend for NICOFEST VIR and the car seemed to run great except for one problem. When the car got hot, the rev limiter somehow changed to 6k rpms instead of 7500. I would do a few laps not revving past 6k (because it wouldn't let me), then the rev limiter would allow me to rev back up to 7500 for a few laps, and it kept alternating back and forth like that.

Does anyone know if the G37 ECU changes the rev limiter based on water temperature or something? The temp gauge never moved, but that doesn't mean the ECU wasn't changing it due to a lower threshold than what the gauge requires to move.

Maybe they wanted to emulate the BMW 335 and their oil temp issue so Infiniti owners felt on par with Bimmer owners?

I cannot find any information in the ESM about the rev limiter at all, there isn't a symptom diagnosis subsection for variable redline. It would not be beyond the realm of comprehension that the programming in the ecm would alter the rev limit based on ects input and oil temp sensor inputs.

I'll see what I can find it sound like more secret ninja sh*t they don't really share.

Thanks Steve. awd...I was running on the Patriot course in the advanced Tarzan Lap Sessions class. I only ran the first 2 sessions though and skipped out on the 3rd.

Did you see my G at all? I was parked right next to the NICO tent the entire weekend when not on the track.

What color is your G? Mine was parked like 5 cars up the hill from the tent. I was only there Sat.

It's gray. I was parked directly behind our tent all weekend, and I was usually sitting in a chair at our tent.

MMM. I popped in the tent a few times. Introduced myself. (JERRY)
