I read many topics about this, and i still dont know which ones to remove. I was under my 1992 LE just now and there was 4 round thins on the transmission with 4 plugs pluged to it. there is 2 with black wires, 1 with yellow wires, and one with green wires. which 2 is teh rev limiter? And the weird thing is, i cant pass 5000 rpm even in nutural.... why is that?

Florida. I think he's talking about the RPM limiters for the 4th and 5th gears. The top speed limiter is the one you chop at the ECU.

Maybe I'm wrong? ...but then what's new, eh?

In a S13 best thing to do, is get an ECU from an automatic and your all done .

No rev limiter or speed limiter.

PUt the car in 4th or 5th gear... With the clutch engaged.. Then try to rev it to 7k rpm. I bet you still have them unless you swapped to an Auto ECU.

If not, then tell me what else you did because I hate any sort of limiter. Especially the kind that is attached to my bank account called a 'wife'.

Well now I have a tuned ECU. I've doen 3 cars... What is 5th gear rev limiter? I have a picture somewhere of 5600rpms in 5th. And what is 4th gear?

Not sure exactly. There are stoopid rev limiters in 4th and 5th gears. As well as the top speed one. Pulling the plugs on the transmission, gets rid of them. I've not had the balls to take my car 'that' fast yet. I might take a look at the car today and see what is what under there.

Lets see what I can break today...

The ecu wire to remove the fuel cut at 117mph. is the 8th wire down on the ecu. It's a yellow wire with a green stripe. While ecu is installed go to the top left corner...count down 8 wires on the left side. DOHC
