LOL, don't worry it's not asking how to remove it!

I was thinking about it today and wanted to know if I'm right on something.

Like the speed controll, which I've snipped the wire going to the ecu, as opposed to undoing the transmission sensors and possibley not having my tach work in 4th & 5th gears don't those wires work the same as the speedo wire right?

So could'nt I just cut the 4th gear switch (ecu pin out #42) wire and 5th gear switch (ecu pin out #33) wire? I mean the sensors go from the transmission to the tach, then don't these wires go from the tach to the ecu?

That should remove the rev limiter as the ecu would'nt know when I'm in those gears and I'd 100% be assured of still having a working tach.

I don't know it just seems right to me but can anyone here confirm or deny this.

Thanks

I got a headache trying to read that. Are you sure you are using the word "tach" and "rev limit" and "speed limit" in the right places.

HAHAHAHA

Ok man I'll try and be more clear.

Basically (and I'm sure you know this) to remove the Speed Limiter just snip the wire coming from that gauge cluster to the ecu, which I'v done. The speedo still works b/c the sensor wire was'nt cut, it's the wire going to the ecu that was snipped.

So basically do the transmission sensor wires work the same way is what I'm asking. Can I cut the 4th & 5th gear switch wires INSTEAD of disconnecting the sensors under the car?

LOL, more clear?

Well I'll try this then and hope for the best. I guess I can always attach them again if it turns out my tach does'nt work in part or at all.

People pay good money to have rev limiters...why would you want to disable yours?

I want it gone so I can rev over 5000 rpm's on the highway so I can dust honda's.

???Your car won't rev over 5k rpm in 4th or 5th gear??? Is that just somethin' the s14 does?

I don't know about S14's but it does in S13's unless you've swapped a 5 spd ecu with an automatic one.

See the car govern's out (speed wise) at 190km's ish. Now when you disable that, a rev limiter kicks in at 5000rpm's. So I want that gone too.

Hmmm, interesting. I didn't realize that it had a safety feature to make certain you can't disable the speed limiter. I just assumed you had an s14 because I'd never heard of that in s13 discussions.

Now I see what you are saying. I guess if you dont have access to the bottom of the car you can snip them at the ecu and it would have the same effect.
