I have a 93 fastback 5 spd and I recently put a new Ka in it because I blew my origional one. The motor came out of an automatic 240 and is way more powerful. For the last few months it has been running great and still runs great but suddenly one night my motor wouldnt rev past about 6300 in every gear and in neutral. It use to rev up to 7000 like it should. I dont know what is wrong. My transmission also suddenly started grinding in every gear one night and is getting worse. My friend thinks its my syncros or balance shafts but I'm not sure. Do I have to get a whole new transmission or is it fixable? I also would like some help on my rev limiter issue. Do I need a new ecu? Some help please.

Grinding every gear is usually a problem with a bent shift fork.

As far as your RPM limiter is concerned has your ECU thrown and codes? Question is for both of you.

Also when you hit the rev limiter is it a soft cut or hard cut.
