well for some reason i don't have a rev limiter on my SII RB25 i know of a lot of ppl who run Bee*r rev limiters but their $ and hard to come buy these days. or at least i cant find them anywhere in the states. so i was thinking of the Auto meter Pro Control Ignition Interrupter. has any one ever had any experience with this item?linkhttp://www.sdpc2000.com/catalo...n.htm

MSD has a Soft Touch Rev limiter system which is nice. But last I talked to them, they didn't know if it worked on the Skyline.

I assume that if you could figure out how to wire it, it would do the job.

Or trade in your coil on plug for the GM wastespark setup. It's supposed to be less than $50 to setup.

I called MSD and asked about that soft touch rev limiter and told them the sort of ignition I had.

They told me that it wouldnt work as a plug and play system like it would with a distributor ignition... They then told me if I sent them a wiring diagram or something like that, they could make me a custom aftermarket ignition system and integrate the soft touch controller into that.. No thank$!

I'm a ricer and I really want to launch in boost, so I was planning on getting one of those Bee *r systems, but yes.. they are bank.

I'm interested to see some replies in this thread.

Why would you want to launch in boost????Damn ricers!!!! lol

Ummm well if we knew how the MSD soft touch was wired and worked, we could probably figure out how to wire it into the Coil on plug system we have.

The way coils usually work is that they have power and they ground out to fire.

But... out coils have 3 wires I don't know what they are but we do have schematics that will tell us. Plus we have the ignitor also.

So I'm GUESSING pretty much all we have to do is wire the Soft Touch in before the ignitor some how.

The Soft touch is supposed to take spark from every other cyl when you are on the limiter.

Correct.. I'm interested to see how this would work.. I understand its probably riggable, but I'm not sure how the soft touch system goes about cutting spark.. You know, whether or not it would work backwards with our grounding method of signalling the coils.

Lol, I'm a ricer because I'd use it just to listen to the sound of launch controll =P And shoot fireballs at people that I dont like

The MSD Soft Touch is a Rev Limiter like the Bee*R thingie.

Instead of the factory way of cutting fuel. It alternately cuts spark to every other cyl.

So if you set it to 8,000 then you can stand on the gas pedal and it will shoot flames and pop, fart and burp out the exhaust and NOT overrev.

Do you have a chipped computer???Or did you just maybe burn out that circuit or something???

Have you ever tried another ECU??

i haven't tried another ECU but its like my rev limiter comes and goes some times its limiters at 68** rpms and some times it revs to 8000rpms im doing another wastegate set and right now and the cars in paint so when i get it back and get it running agine i can get better feed back b/c its been a while since i have driving it i jsut stopped once my wastegate failed and i never had a Rev limiter b4 that so i just took the car down for a while. i had read a while back about other ppl have the same problem. so how would the Waste spark set up limit my RPMS?oh yeah Stock ECU no chip or non that i know of, the engine was stock so im assuming so is the ECU

If you switch to the GM wastespark system you can just buy a DIS4 Ignition box or if they sell the Soft touch system seperately for cars with no Distributor.

They come with directions on how to hook it up for that. Just tell them you have a GNX.

Try someone else's ECU or maybe you have a loose wire or something.

That's strange????
