Rev Limiter on a 93 240sx??? 5500 rpm??? True or NOT?

i was just checking out the 1993 240sx today and i was just taking the guys car for a spin. tried to redline it but it wouldnt let me pass 5500 rpm?

is there a rev limiter on a 1993 240sx?? is there anyway to get rid of that limit?? and does anyone konw where to get this fixed?? i wanan get the car ..but not sure how i can by pass this problem?

anyone on the fourm h ave the same thing? please share your experiences!

auto or 5 speed?

the rev limiter is 6750 i believe and jwt reprogramming can get rid of it, or if you are an auto, the auto to manual swap, can too. I believe there is a plug in the transmission of the auto that can be removed to eliminate this.

My friend is constantly revving above 5500 with nothing going on. He does have a stick though. That may have something to do with it. I don't know the exacts on the autos

i was in 1st gear. and the cut off was lke.. 5200rpm...

not sure what the problem is..

hmm this is too weird..

anyone have the same problem?
