Alright It's time I give my car a reliable powertrain. I'm tired of fixing her on the side of freeways; hungover on the way to a track or in the middle of the night and the middle of nowhere. My end goal is a motor w/ ~315hp that can handle a rev limit of 8000rpm or greater. I want the powerband to be as smooth as possible. And the power needs to remain consistent w/ repeated runs. So far she needs a complete upgrade. The last time I checked the compression it read 130,130,115,120 so I'm pretty sure the rings are shot and I blew a couple lifters again yesterday and the p/s pump crapped out on me. Besides that I can still drift her just fine. I have some of the parts I need to help attain my goal but I need advice on deciding what to do with the head and internals. I'm going to go full engine management most likely haltech after the build too but first I need a bulletproof rotating assembly.

What I have now is: sr t25gwalbro 255lphkoyo dual row alum. radiatormanual boost controllerSafc21.2 Greddy head gasketka throttle body(not installed)z32 MAF(not installed)tuned ecu(exhaust, boost cut, speed limiter)Small 12x18 FMICHKS filterturbo back 3" w/ 2.5" mandrel bend over subframe exhaust.

What I know I need:550 injectorss15 t28pistons, rings?valve springs?new or rebuilt lifters

What I need info on:porting and polishing?valves, retainers, valve job/cutting?cams?knife edge and balance the crank?rods, pins?bearings?

I'm looking for your experiance with these parts. If you beat on your car let me know too. Company names and part numbers are awesome Oh yeah the motor I'm planning on building a ca18de(pretty sure just got to change the pistons and tap a hole for oil in the block. I will transfer the pan and anything else needed off my ca18det. I figure it's better to do it right once so I won't be fixing it all the time. Thank in advance

Ummm, when in the hell did bearings started becoming sexy ? Tim, you really need to stop humping cattle because it's starting to take effect on things you view in life as attractive. I'll safely assume that you've put your pecker in your muffler while the car was running so you can get a warm blow-job, right? Or even worse, your hand stays on your shifter at all times, huh!

At this rate, you will get banned, but I'll let Ryan have the honors ...........Oh yeah, after all this, you're still my boy .

Love,

Dee

you know i love you too.

i had the federal bearings next to some clevite ones the engine rejected (hack job machine shop didnt understand 30 over) and the federal ones looked way nicer. they also cost an arm and a leg, but were the only ones they had in the size i needed. they had this extra layer on the inside (dual layer material instead of clevite's single) and it was much smoother.

if you want some really sick bearings, i suggest the power enterprise black bearings. like $270 a set, so somewhere around $500 for the whole deal, but you would have some bragging rights. maybe. i dont know anyone who has tried them.

Wow you guys really like bearings. I'll have to hit up power enterprises also. Do you think the rods and valves would need an upgrade or should I be able to use the stock pieces? I know I'll want to upgrade the cams, springs and retainers to hold everything in place at high revs, but what compaies parts would you suggest to get a reliable head. I want at least 8000 rpm to bounce off of so something that makes power up to their would be fine too. Should I worry about getting my crank knife edged and the head port and polished? I still gotta fix my front end from a wall on Sunday but I plan on digging into the motor during spring break
