so i got lucky and managed to acquire some arp rod bolts with some RB26 rods. the bolts are used, but i want to use them when i put my block back together.

question:

Can you reuse ARP's Rod bolts, or could they be stretched too far from being torqued the first time?

thx in advance, i may call ARP if i have to.

pretty sure thats the purpose of ARP anything bolts/studs, you dont spend big bucks for just regular bolts.

ARPs do stretch after multiple torques, and they provide a stretch tolerance in the specs, but you can re-use them a few times usually.

Rod bolts aren't torqued down near as tight as say, head studs, so I think it would be ok to reuse them, but how much are new ones? Cheap insurance, ya know?

lol ricky, email sent

So talked to a rep at ARP, they're not torque to yeild bolts; obviously, but she said if they're one thousandth (.001) of an inch off after being used the first time they are fine, anymore trash them.

However i'm thinking i'll take you up on the that offer coolwhip. I'd rather pay a measly $50-60 now for insurance than risk a broken rod due to stretched bolts. So whoever wants the rods i have for sale (see signature) i'll throw in the ARP's (which are probably fine, i just like to throw money away )
