Now i know i'm not supposed to reuse my stock head studs but is there anyway to avoid buying ARPs and just resusing them? Like maybe if they have low kms on it or the spec length and shape of them are good? Like i need my car back asap and it will take like a week to get head studs in here.

I'm just trying to find a bypass by buying and waiting for new ones. If there isn't one then just tell me. Don't freak out and flame on me.

I would think you might be able to buy OEM replacements at the dealership or at a auto part store.

seems like a dangerous thing to cut corners on.......

Well i was thinking that cause my motor only has 80 000 kms on it it could slide but i know it's dangerous. Is there a dangerous risk if i put in the resuse ones for now and then when i get them in take those ones out and put in the ARPs? The car is completley mint stock so would that affect anything if i have the OEMs in for a week and then quickly swap em' out?

I believe the OEM head bolts can be reused up to 3 times or so...according to the FSM.

I've reused them a few times. They are not torque to yield like Honda and do not stretech permanently. I have also bought head bolts from the stealership before. They are like $12 a pop IIRC.

They're not stretch bolts, so as long as they're within the tolerances set by Nissan you'll be fine

Alright thanks guys. Put the OEM ones in and all torqued down fine. Guess we'll find out if it leaks.

Thanks for the advice!

You're more likely to leak with the Cometic and ARP's than to stretch reused OEM ones and leak =( The Cometic wont smoosh like OEM to fill any imperfections on the head..and the ARP's dont get torqued to hell to pull it tight enough (if there are imperfections). I would use either/or personally.........cometic w/oem bolts if you had the block decked........ARP's w/OEM HG if you did not.
