how do you get to the fabric above the arm rest?

i want to remove it and i have this black vinyl to put on it.

If it's like s13 panels, you'll have to pull it from the actual door. Take some kind of flatblade screwdriver or similar and pry. Take your time and be careful, and you should be ok.
