Retrofitted headlights aren't bright....Help!!!!!

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe

I paid to have my headlights retrofitted and I got them back and hooked up all the wires. Not sure what I did wrong, but the lights are not bright at all. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem? Also, my high beams aren't coming on. I think that might be because I didn't match the wires (black to black, red to red). Another thing I notice is that when I turned on the lights at night to test it and I turn on one of the blinkers (let's say the right one), only the left light is shining. Is that how that's supposed to be?
