Retrofit dash from 2006 M35 to 2008 M35

Postby raven69david » Sun May 10, 2020 7:04 pm

Is this possible? Are the parts the same? I found a 2006 M35 and would like to convert the instrument cluster and center video console with the 2008 version as I like the white lights instead of the yellow lights. Is this possible? TIA

2008 Mid-generational refresh

For the 2008 model year, the Infiniti M received a minor model update... Other new features on the 2008 model include touch screen hard drive based navigation, iPod integration, and a music hard drive.
The short answer is no. That is to say that if you want the touch screen system to work properly you'll also need to install the Display Controller, Navigation unit, Navigation antenna and sensor, and the Music Hard Drive (plus additional wiring). Not to mention that Infiniti discontinued the map updates years ago. The last map version is 8.8 from 2015 and retails for $79.

It would be far easier and cheaper to replace the dash bulbs with what you want, and replace the head unit with a decent aftermarket stereo with the features you're looking for.

This will give you an idea of everything you'd need to do this: https://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/parts ... m=280_A003
