Ok well I think i've (w/ charlies help) figured out my "power loss" problem (mainly me Barely inching away from KoukiKAT lol) but that ibviously shouldnt be happening....i should be making a bare minimun of 300rwhp on stock boost all day. He's making about 240rwhp so obviously somethings off. Thats not really the only problem....(not really a problem) but Ive been running EXTREMELY HOT EGT'S (motor temp is normal)......not to the point of 900 C or anything but HOT....So anyways Im warming up my car last night (has been sitting since the Memorial Day GTG...so its nice and cold) and i hear ticking.....so thinking that i have an exhaust leak in my mani from how it sounded (i kknow i have a leak where my DP and ext to DP connect and thats what it was) i pop my hood and notice that my manifold is already glowing orange just from idling for 5 or so minutes.....now thats WHACKED OUT obviously)(PS i also noticed a raw gas smell....AGAIN!...turns out the leak we thought i had from a loose connector wasnt the problem...for those of u that were at the Memorial day GTG u know about it....lol....i didnt even realize....but the hose that connected to my fuel pressure gauge had a pinhole in it and it was seeping out of the hose....so i just cut 3 or so inches off it for now and re-connected the gauge until i get a longer piece of 5/16's fuel line....GOOD THING I DIDNT DRIVE IT HUH.....)So I get to marks and explain that to Charlie and hes thinking that the only thing that could cause so much heat in the manifold w/ regular motor temp is if the fuel is igniting late and some of it is actually burning in the manifold....sounds right....retarded timing would cause that to happen if anything and i know for a fact my ignition timing is set retarded (Alex said 11 degs. advanced....stock is 15 deg advanced....but who knows for sure...maybe its more off than that)....I mean my compressor even gets too hot to touch just at idle....and the heat is so intense that the GReddy intake manifold gets hot too....ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE!.....im ean....WTF!.....thats just not right.....so not only is all this heat killing my power but the timing would be too.......this could very well explain why im not pulling like i should AND why i running so hot.....if any1 has comments or other ideas...post em up....I'm gonna borrow a timing light tonight and set the timing back to 15 degrees advanced......hopefully it solves the problem

PS....My idle speed is at about 1300RPMS.....doesnt that affect the timing setting since its over 1000 RPMs?

Definitely get your timing to where it belongs. There is a huge difference between 10 and 15 degrees. I have mine at ~17, but I'm still running the T25. The ECU is really good about taking timing out of the motor if it senses knock. I was running around at 22 degrees advanced for a few days. Then I noticed under WOT, the ECU started backing the timing off. That's when I set it to 17, and it's been good ever sense. Obviously don't advance your timing TOO far, yet at the same time, don't be scared to bump it up a few degrees. Just be careful with the first couple WOT pulls... ease into the throttle as opposed to burying it.

Does your car idle at 1300 after it warms up? That's a bit high. When was the last time you adjusted the CAS and checked the TPS voltage?

well for some reason with the cams the car idles like poop.....so we turned up the idle speed to about 1300 so it would be smooth ...we adjusted the CAS after the turbo kit/ecu/cams/injectirs/mafs and all the other good stuff was put in and we were tryin to get it to run....i guess its set to 12 deg. so i dont see why it could be doing all this.....i think we're just gonna set it back to 15 deg. tomorrow......Im so lost.....is cant explain the header glowing orange after 5 mintues of idle....WTF is goin on?!

Is it running hot like that before or after the install of the cams? Too much of retarded timing or advanced timing would cause low egts. Curious, you have a catalytic convertor or test pipe? Something could be plugged perhaps? Run racing gas lately to clog up the cat? Using stock cat?
