Been reading about how to clean it, but not totally sure on its function. FSM is all nice and vague about it. Just wondering if it is the culprit in some of my idle/start quirks.

Also, just pull it off and spray the guts with carb cleaner correct?

its some little worthless thing that, when cold, allows more air to flow into the engine and closes when hot. either that orits the exact opposite. and i guess cleaning it with carb cleaner works, thats what i did with mine and it seems to still be working.

get back with yall later on this one. but when people put aftermarket cams in their car and have an aggressive profile on the exhuast cam the aac valve has two holes on it one can be drilled out and it smoothes the idle. more to come. this is the case on rb's. have to ask my friend michi to clear this one up.

It feeds extra air into the mani when you first start the car up. Most of the people with hard cold start problems (myself included) need to replace/repair this. Mine is toast and stuck open, so If I have it hooked up, it won't idle below about 1200rpm. Starts like a champ when it's cold though!

I tired starting it w/ the AAC unplugged and it wouldn't even start. And it usually takes 2-3 cranks to get my car to start and I have to be real careful that it dosen't die after a second. But after it starts, it usually runs up to 1500 RPM for a second, but not always. I think my AAC is toast....Where can I get a new one?

the DE one WON'T work. Ours uses a hose for the in and out. The DE one bolt straight to an opening in the manifold.

Tell me is you think this sounds like AAC sticking:

When cold, car idles at 850RPM (but hunts a little). After doing WOT runs, car idles at 1200RPM-1800RPM. When cold, car bogs. I am thinking that the AAC is stuck closed when cold, and opens its retarted self after warm, causing my idle to go weird. I have tried adjusting the screw on the AAC and to no avail. Still does this.

My TPS made my car do that after WOT runs. Make sure its still in good working order and adjusted.

How does one adjust it? At one point, I was getting a TPS code from my ECU.
