Hey everyone, Here's my story of how a couple of good days turned into a pretty crappy month with a good ending.

Beginning of good days: Monday, 9/8/08, I took delivery of of some Stillen stuff.

In the box above: front fascia, side skirts, roof wing & trunk wing.

In the box: axle-back exhaust.

The following day, 9/9/08, I took a trip to my local dealership after work. My parents were buying a 2009 Rogue, and they told me to go check it out. I ended checking something a little cooler out, a new GT-R. I even got to hear it purr and play with the navigation and information displays.

Here is where everything heads south. On the way back home from the dealership, some idiot in a Ram 3500 rear ended me. Although I was super pissed off, I was fine from the accident. Now the good part: the lying son of a **** that hit me weaseled his way out of a ticket. The police dispatcher just had to send a wanna be cop out (the "Public Service Aids" we have here). The moron wanna be cop didn't even know where she was standing! She got the city and intersection wrong on the police report. To make a long story short, after waiting a week for his insurance company, Allstate, I had to file the claim through my insurance. I needed a rental car to get around seeing as I couldn't drive my car, and I don't have another one. It took a month of arguing with Allstate, but they accepted liability for the accident.

The damage:

9/16/08 - The rental:

9/17/08 - Off to the body shop:

9/30/08 - Progress:

The wrong part kept on coming in. It took two weeks and three tries to finally get the correct part of the frame in so everything could get lined up and the work could continue.

10/10/08 - Almost done:

10/14/08 - Bringin' her back home.

After all, the whole ordeal with the accident was a pain in the butt, and it still is. The insurance company messed up some paperwork and there are problems between them and the rental car/company. I'm SO happy to have my car back again. I missed it dearly, and it looks and sounds better than it did before. I must say, I am a happy customer of Maroone Nissan, Stillen, and my guy at the body shop.Click here for larger versions of the pics.

Next up on the mod list:- Exterior: Install mesh on the front fascia, paint the visible windshield washer tank black, and swap the stock 2.5 mirrors for the folding mirrors with turn signals from the 3.5.- Wheels and tires: Tenzo Type M's in the black/machined finish wrapped in 225/40/19 Toyo Proxes T1-R's.- Suspension and brakes: Eibach springs, Stillen rear sway bar, Racingline front and rear sway bar endlinks, Stillen front big brake kit, rear rotors and brake lines.- Engine: wrap the engine cover in carbon fiber, and maybe a turbo?- Interior: wrap the silver door handle trims and steering wheel trim (if i can figure out how to take it off) in carbon fiber.- Audio: Still up in the air on this one. I want a mild system - if I can make it sound like my surround sound system, I'll be happy.

Thanks for reading.

Congrats on getting the car back! Looks great!

Always remember that you being ok is the most important part about the accident - cars can be replaced/repaired - you can't!

Good luck!

Parts can always be replaced but you cant!

Car is looking nice and sharp. Red has to be my favorite color on the car behind silver, which I have of course lol.

The Tenzo's are gonna probably be the hottest thing on that car, hands down.

Looks good bro, I am glad everthing is starting to turn around for you. I would of lost my mind on some people if all that happened to me.

By the way, you are going to love those T1R's. They are amazing. I have 245/35/20 and they dont even squeel on canyon runs flying around turns. They grip like there life depends on it. Plus they look sick.

Ouch Sorry to hear about your Car. Looking at your photos brings back BAD memories for me. I have the same color coupe and the same thing happened she was rear ended in the rear while parked though. So I feel your pain to get the right parts in! It took 3 months for all my parts to finally come in! Glad everything is back to normal.

Nice to have a good ending to this story.

I noticed that they painted the diffuser to match the car. Did you want it like that or they just thought that's how it went?

Also, keep us updated on how the 3.5 mirror swap goes. I have the same car/same package as you and I want to make sure this works flawlessly.

Your ride is looking sweet bro, CONGRATS! Can't wait to see it in person, but stay away from the Rams. Now you know how they came up with the name

Thanks everybody.Thankfully I wasn't injured, and neither was the other driver or his passenger. My shoulder hurt a little the next day from the seat belt, but no big deal. It was pretty difficult to keep my head straight and not flip out on anybody, but you folks that have gone through something similar know how it is. I remember seeing the pictures of Vhernandez919's accident, which was way worse than this. I think the pictures make it look worse than it really was. Repairs ran close to $4,600 with parts and labor, and the rental car was almost $1,000 for 29 days. I hope the guys insurance rates skyrockets; he deserves it for being such an after the accident. If there is a plus side to the accident, its that I got the Stillen parts painted and installed for $300. The thing with the rear diffuser was that the old bumper had already been scrapped by the time the new one was painted, so it was accidentally painted red. There was a 2007 Altima sedan in the shop, and they thought the paint scheme was the same, but the sedans have the diffuser thing painted. Nothing that tape, paper and black paint couldn't fix though. I'll be messing with the mirrors soon to see if the mirror's plug has the 7 wires needed to do the swap. If it only has three wires, then it's going to have to stay the way it is, as I don't want to take half of the car apart to run wires.I learned to drive in a Ram 1500, so I know how they came up with the name. Those big trucks don't stop too fast, and the 3500 doesn't do any better in that department. I don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but its hard to stay away from trucks down here; they're EVERYWHERE, and most of them are driven by idiots. We all know how that goes.Come to think of it dangeris, our cars do look like brothers, lol.And yeah, I wish I would have ended up with a GT-R. I love my car, but I wouldn't mind having one of those too.

Sorry to double post and bring a relatively old thread back... But I pulled the trim piece covering up the mirror connection today and sure enough, the car has the correct plug for the 3.5 mirrors.
