hey everyone my car blew the hg and i just took the head off, i am giving it to my cousin to take to his college (northwestern automotive college) to get the head resurfaced. And i was thinking that since I am getting that done, y not port and polish;and hell maybe even have them open up the exhaust and intake ports a little bit.Just to allow the head to flow a little better. Are there any disadvantages to having him do this extra work.I am ordering a SAFC-2 soon anyways. But will i have to UP my injectors at all.Right now i am running a 4-2-1 megan headers to a 2.75 catback exhaust.Intake is on the way.Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

If you increase flow in your head you will notice a difference in idle and possible running lean if you dont put extra fuel in and also if you machine alot from the head and your bottom end is tired(alot of miles) you run the chance of blowing the bottom end up.So just be careful and smart about it.

the bottem end only has 60,000miles on it.so i dont think that the bottem end will blow.but keep the input comin.

need more info on motor? size? if you have it ported and polished you only polish the EXHUAST ports not the intake . Gasket match the ports on the intake side and exhuast side it lets the air come in and go out alot easier. When you get it all put back together take it easy for a little bit till you know its not running lean...ie detonation, and check your plugs for color. Also replace the thermostat and new coolant when you get it back together

Can we port and polish the intake manifold also at the same time ?

Me I already have the sr20det injector 370cc so I think it could help with a walbro fuel pump and an Safc it should be good.

you never polish the intake manifold or runners or ports on the head (intake side)if you do the air will not have the turbulance you need to atomize the fuel. You can gasket match the throttle body to let it go in easier.
