I just got another clutch for my sr. Now my question is can I get my flywheel resurfaced? Its a light weight one, and I know that you can get normal flywheels resurfaced and I have a feeling you can get light weight ones resurfaced too. My problem is when I go to get the flywheel resurfaced the place looks for the specs in a book. I know that this motor won't be in the book, so should I just mention like a 1991-94 sentra ser, or does someone have numbers that i should give the people when I go to get it resurfaced.

Thanks in advanced.

. IDK for sure, but I just got my ka fly resurfaced. I just took the flywheel in the box that got shipped to me with my address on it and walked in the transmission shop, dropped that b**** on the counter. Guy was on the phone and I said, resurface this. He said, for who? I tapped the label and left. After work I picked up a resurfaced flywheel.

I'd assume drop off flywheel and after a couple hours pick it up and pay your $30-45 and then done.

I've never had a problem resurfacing SR flywheels.

However, since you mention it's a lightweight flywheel, I have to ask what type of flywheel is it? A chromoly or a fidanza style with the replaceable steel rings? If it's chromoly, or some other type of lighter, harder steel, you will want to tell your shop. A lot of shops will refuse to work on or charge you more for those types of flywheels due to the amount of wear it puts on the machining bits. If it's a fidanza style, you'll need to order new steel insert rings and have them installed.

If its a steel or chromolly flywheel without a replaceable friction surface in it you can give me the stack height measurement of it and i can tell you if it can be resurfaced.

You get this measurement by measuring from the mounting surface of the flywheel ( where it bolts to the crank) to the top of the friction surface ( where the disc rides )

crap i don't have any pecision mesuring devices at my house. So you guys think it the same as the ka? Because a few months back i brought my 04 acura flywheel in and they said they couldn't do it because they didn't have numbers for it, and i don't want it done like a ka if its not supposed to be.

Oh also IDK what kind of light weight it is, because I can't find a name on it, I'm thinking its either act or act knock off.

IIRC the KA and SR both share a steeped style flywheel. So as long as you keep the step in the flywheel everything should be ok. Just double check that before you send it to the machine shop..

Also on a side note try to see what they use to resurface. If they just use a lathe and turn it like a break rotor then find another machine shop. I've seen a couple times where the lathe wasn't setup correctly and they turned it but still didn't have it a 100% flat. They need to use a flywheel surfacer or blanchard grinder..

Can anyone tell me the bolt size of the pressure plate bolt for a ka?

The 6 bolts that connect the pressure plate/clutch to the flywheel.

I am not taking my flywheel off to have them size it, does anyone have one around they could size for me? The FSM tells the torque specs but I didn't find a size.
