Some may recall that I volunteered my G to be used in retesting by the EPA for some mullah in return. I was hoping to get dyno results, but unfortunately I didn't get any. But here are the results that I did get.

Carbon Monoxide Test result 0.71157 g/mi Standard 3.4 g/mi

Non-Methane Hydrocarbon Test result 0.055744 g/mi Standard 0.075 g/mi

Nitrogen-Oxygen CompoundsTest Result 0.03173 g/mi Standard 0.05 g/mi

MPG City 20.61 mpgMPG Highway 32.77 mpg

Who was the guy driving the car. I have never seen that kind of MPG. Maybe I can have him drive me to work to help save me some gas and $$ that I can burn up driving on the weekends.

Everything is determined on simulated drives on dynos. Not everything can be exactly reproduced on a dyno (frictional forces of the road, aerodynamic drag), plus its probably all done by computer to ensure everything is the same in terms of acceleration and what not. You did see the letters E, P, and A together, right?

Smockers:

Excellent! Well, once upon a time, I once told people here that after adding test pipes, I was getting close to 30 MPG in my car at 70 miles per hour on the highway. I have all the mods, and some more, as Smockers has on his car. No one beleived my results. I have no reason to distrust EPA numbers for any reason either.

Now, if you add, according to Smockers83, "frictional forces of the road, aerodynamic drag", then you can see how and why I may actually be getting at least 28 MPG or better on the highway. My MPG data came diectly from the GPS navigation system in the G.

I still have to test my car to determine its actual MPG as suggested by Nate (SentienbyDesign), but I am convinced that my MPG is as good as what Smockers83 has presented. These cars are capable of better MPG than stated by the manufacturer, with mods.

I've reported 28 MPG myself on this site more than once. It isn't too far off but we have to remember its the EPA under controlled, simulated environments.

Oh, and the test was done with the G returned to stock, not done with the mods.

So, you mean with stock stuff, i could get better mpg? Oh well, whatever is going on in my car, I love the mpg even when I flog the car--literally sips gas to give me very good performance. I know its running lean with test pipes and 17* BTDC timing advance, but I don't care so long as I continue to get the rush from its performance, and continue to feel like I have made love to three beautiful women at the same time, after each driving session.

If my engine makes it to 4 years, it has more than served my needs, and I won't hesistate to go to a junkyard and get another engine to flog. This car wasn't meant to be babied at all.

No, not really. Just wanted to disclose that fact as it was a requirement for testing.

Because you can't that does not mean it is not possible. So no need BS flag. My wife on the X can get 21 in city. I get 13-17. Depends.

Also what size tire are you using? What is the roll resistance on the tire? What was you tire pressure? Just these can change few mpg on your car. Then we did not talk about the fuel, spark plugs,oil,a/c , etc etc.

Speaking of fuel, the EPA uses the highest quality fuel available, fuel you and me can't get. The mechanic I talked to said he filled my car up for me with the high octane good stuff and boy, was it good.

Nice I would love to put my hands on some of those fuels.

I get 19 to 20 mpg in the suburbs with moderate flogging in the coupe.Wife gets around 18 in the sedan with no flogging.

Haven't seen anything in the 30's since I had that 84 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z pos....Only good thing about it.

The mileage has gotten a lot of talk so far, which is expected because that's what we as drivers look at. What astounded me however is that carbon monoxide emissions on my G is nearly 5 times less than the standard (4.78 to be exact).

The mileage they got astounds me, too. I haven't seen those kinds of numbers out in the real world, but that's not what surprises me. What surprises me is that they got significantly better numbers than the original testing in order to market the car.

Probably due to the fuel they used.

Yeah, but the same fuel is used across the board. So to be that far below the standard is still amazing.
