okay so I've decided maybe not to cut the cat out just yet for sound purposes, but I've talked to a guy about just cutting the resonator out. He said better flow, and a little bit better sound, even with the stock muffler. Now I know the muffler has got to go, but for now I'm thinking i wanna just see what happens without the resonator. Anybody done this or know of any pros or cons to this?

If you are concerned about not cutting out the cat for "sound purposes"..i wouldn't cut out the stock resonators. I replaced my stock cat back piping with plain piping and a weld on muff. Sounds nice and powerful outside, but interior resonance and noise is annoying at times, especially highway driving. I'm putting the resonators back in. flow restriction on these resonators is nothing compared to the stock muffler. IMO just replace this. Unless you're going for a full cat-back with secondary resonator included.

I found it to be very annoying when I had my resonantor out. IMO I wouldn't do it, especially if you do a lot of driving.
