Resognator Blown

Well i have a good inch radius hole in my resognator. there are two metal peices (the outside sheel and there is a plate right on the inside hitting the shell)i was wondering if i could pul some JV weld on the two plates to weld them togehter to stop the noise, then weld a peice of metal over the hole and still pass emisions, or if that wont do, pull the whole resognator and JV Weld a pipe in place. I cannot take it to a shop because of money issues, and really dont want to buy a new resognator. And finaly, Will JV weld actually work on this?

the resinator is only to quiet it down more, it is not nessesary for emissions. JB weld will not work on exhaust. Remove the resinator.Try to locate a pipe very slightly larger in diameter then the pipe on the car slide it over the pipe about 4 inches. about 2 inchs back use a exhuast U-bolt to clamp it down on the existing pipe. Of course measure it all up first and cut the pipe to fit.
