Resistors???

I was wondering around e-bay the other day and ran acorss a crap load of these supposed "preformance chips" for like $2-5 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6764 i was wondering if there was any truth to this or just another gimic?

if it sounds to good to be true it is. And in this case it is way to good to be true.

if you search, there are a couple threads about this all ready. The resistor just fools your IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor into thinking there is really cold air coming into the engine. So what's the engine do???...it advances the timing a little....in theory. I checked this out with a little OBD-II scanner I had, and it didn't look like it did much...couldn't tell you for sure, didn't do any extensive research on it =)
