probably would add alot of excess noise. free up a few horses but dunno if that'd be worth the extra attention from potential thieves and cops.

I'm a nub, but.

Isn't no cat = illegal for smog issues and all that garbage?

yeah it is illegal , if yu get caught by a cop , like he pulls yu over and he thinks there no cat on it..well then yu tell him that its a cat and yu point to it.aslong as yur not racing it through town then it shouldn't be too loud

Ah,

My car has a gutted cat. Came with it. I wonder if I could bust the dealership for selling me an illegal car? Didn't notice it until I was working on it. I was deciding to either put in my Megan test pipe or my RTech Hi-Flow Cat (I decided cat for emissions and law), but that went to crap when we noticed one of the gutted cat was bolted and then welded.

WTF m8

Anyways.

Megan Test Pipe FS - NEVER USED - PERFECT CONDITION! ...i'm not joking either lol

The resonator (by itself) DOESNT do a lot for noise control in a OEM exhaust system. Now, if you remove the cat and install the resonator in his place I'm afraid is going to get a little loud. You might start getting atenttion from the local law enforcement.

I've got a project nissan resonated test pipe in place of a cat. Of course, I don't have emissions here, so that's something to think about. It's really not loud at all actually. A lot of it has to do with the exhaust you're running too.

Very true, that's what I meant by saying "OEM" full exhaust. If your exhaust is or compares to the OEM quiet type, the resonator does not make that much of a difference when is in there or not...Now the cat definetely filters a lot of rumbling....

your car is gonna be insanely loud without the cat. it muffles the exhaust more than most think. get a cheap cat from a parts store, probably $50-60 and take it and your stock one to a muff shop and have them switch the flanges (making sure its the same length.

alrighty...my cat and catback is completely welded on tho...no flanges anywheres except for the exhaust manifold and downpipes which should be replaced aswell but ikd if a custom shop could do that or not
