so this weekend I changed my thermostat and my water pump. Now the water in my resevoir boils.

The car doesn't show any overheating, however, when I park you can hear the water just boiling over.

Can anybody help me figure this out? I have a new Thermostat and new Water Pump.

Thanks!

I think I may have to do both... buy a new cap and bleed the system.

I will let you guys know how it goes.

well....this is a tough one to answer with a definition....caps are made in varying temp and pressure ratings.....radiators are made to cool at a certain rate.....when your engine heats up to operating temp..there is a certain amount of pressure that is present in the system...if the engine reaches the critical lvl that the radiator was design'd for then the cap spring opens alowing pressure to be released in to the res tank..after it cools..it sucks the coolant back into the system....

now...when thinking about upgrading parts of a system..you must consider what ratings its design'd for...and at what pressure it operates..

you need to ask your self if you bought the correct cap and thermostat for your system...you can check that by looking at the old cap....to me it soulds like you have a 1bar cap...anyways..start your reaserch there...good luck..hope this explained a few things...repost with your results.
