I had a small bubble in one of my tires from road damage. I swapped it out with the full size spare and had the wheels balanced at the local Goodyear store. Ever since then, the TPMS does not get a reading inside the car. It just reads all *. I called the dealer and they said I need to bring it in for service and have the sensors reregistered. This will cost ~ $58. Does this seem like the standard cost associated with this? Also, is the dealership the only place to have them reregistered?

I'm lost. You have the spare on the car now? correct?

"had the wheels balanced"? What wheels, all 4 or just the spare.

Either way, sometimes it takes a while to recalibrate but they eventually will on their own. No need for a dealer trip. When I had my 20s put on it. It took about 3-4 days for the rears to finally read. Some say you need to drive around at 35+ for awhile....but I think its just a time deal.
