RESET SUNROOF 06 M45

Does anyone know how to reset the sunroof on a 06 M45?

RESET the sunroof? i know i can reset my PS3 or i can reset my COMPUTER, but how do you reset the sunroof? i'm curious on this one.

Did you just replace the car battery? If so, you will just need to open the roof fully by pushing and re-pushing the switch until itopens fully. Also do this for the "vent" or popped up position. Once that cycle is complete, it should work fine. I know of three others this has worked for -- good luck.

Here is a step by step break down of the relearn procedures that can easily be reset if the battery is drained or disconnected. This is much easier than trying to reset a CEL or idle volume learn using key cycles and gas pedal activation.

INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

If the battery is disconnected, the sunroof motor connector is disconnected sunroof does not close or openautomatically, use the following procedure to return sunroof operation to normal.1. Close the sunroof if it is not in the closed position. It may be necessary to repeatedly push the switch to close the sunroof.

2. Press the SLIDE OPEN/TILT DOWN switch for approximately 1 second or more.

3. Initialization procedure is completed. Confirm proper operation of the sunroof (slide open, slide close, tilt up, tilt down.)

As a Quick add-on here is the reset procedure for the Auto window functions.

SYSTEM INITIALIZATION

If any of the following work has been done, initialize the system.- Electric power supply to power window switch or motor is interrupted by blown fuse or disconnecting batterycable, etc.- Removal and installation of the regulator assembly.- Removal and installation of the motor from the regulator assembly.- Removal and installation of the harness connector of the power window switch.- Operate the regulator assembly as a unit.- Removal and installation of the door glass.- Removal and installation of the door glass run.

Initialization

After installing each component to the vehicle, follow the steps below.1. Disconnect the minus terminal of battery or disconnect power window switch's harness connector temporarily, then reconnect after at least 1 minute.

2. Turn ignition switch ON.

3. Open the window to its full width by operating the power window switch. (Exclude this procedure if the window is already fully opened)

4. Fully draw the power window switch in up direction (auto close position) and hold, keep holding the switch even when window is completely closed and then release after 3 second has passed.

5. Inspection of the anti-pinch system function.

NOTE: Initialization may be canceled with continuous opening and closing operation.In this case, initialize the system.

Thanks for the "official" instructions -- I figured it out by trial and error after I had my battery replaced at the EXIDE battery shop.

Sometimes ya just get lucky....
