Is there a way to reset the ecu without consult?

I am getting the new MAF and spark plug tomorrow and the tech told me to reset ECU after installing so the ECU will learn from the new MAF

Any suggestions?

The short term/long term block learn trims readjust pretty fast when driving. I noticed that it takes around 5-10 minutes at 60 mph.The ecu learning must self adjust fast for driving down a mountain when things [air density] change 3-4% in 1,000 feet.

The ecu capacitors will discharge if you take the + battery terminal off for 30-60 minutes or so....but you have to reset the radio, clock, etc.

I'm not certain, but I thought the manual said that the airbag sensors aren't safe to work around until 24 hours after battery disconnect.
