My gas cap on the 2003 M45 was loose and the warning light came on. I tightened it, but the warning light is still on. Is there a way to reset the computer to see if I have fixed the problem? Thanks.

I've been told that once the cap is properly retighten, and after driving about 150 miles, it will reset. I think the resetting miles is different with each brand of auto.

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

You could also go to an Autozone, ask for their freebie code scanner rental (have to leave a credit card authorization for it while you have it checked out) and reset the code using the scanner.

Im not sure if its the same with Nissan/Infiniti as it is with german cars but it actually resets with the amount of key cycles that you go through. Either way if thats the only thing that set it off then it should go off within the week.Cheers

if you don't want to go to autozone then just unplug the battery for 12hrs/overnight. that should solve your problem.

I think you can also keep the battery unplugged for about 15min and it should go off. The only thing to worry about is having radio codes if needed when reset. That could cost 60-120$. I had it happen to my Legend...and that is what the dealership costs to retrieve it.
