2015 Q50 3.5 hybrid, I am wondering if the local garage here is trying pull a fast one = scam on me, the reserve 12v battery in the boot. I took the car in for a service
after the car had sat for near 2.5 to 3 weeks, before taking it; in that time I just started it "stationary" not going anywhere for 10 mins, a day or 2 before, just to make sure everythig is OK. not a problem started straight away.
I took it for the service , they said the reserve battery has low voltage and needs a new one. OK, cost to replace about 250 to 300$. They said they charged it up for now. Umm, I was always told 12.5V is correct, full charge, and to test how good it is, charge it up to 12.5 V leave it for about 24 hr, and re test the V if the battery is good it should still read 12.5 V, it shows its a healthy battery. As the garage only had the car for about 5 hrs, back the point, how do they know it down... I have left the car before now for avout 5 or 6 days NO problem, starts without missing a beat..This sales pitch, smells to me? views?

Yep, I'd pass on the replacement.

Also, if you don't have a multimeter, get one.

Ooh well my female partnter, much richer than me, said replace it and she will pay. What do I do,lol. ummm.. And so a new one went in the car, and I also took the old one back. stuffed it on charge, and now running 13.5 v and the bat indicator shows/says it's very healthy, so now I have a good spare . :naughty:

That works too!

I, too, have a "sugar mama." Make sure she gets a foot rub (and do the dishes!) :)
